Hyundai has once again been spotted testing the next-generation Creta in South Korea, with the latest visual revealing more details about both the exterior and interior. The current, second-generation Creta made its debut in 2020 and was refreshed mid-cycle just two years ago. However, with fresh competition from the Tata Sierra, next-generation Seltos and the upcoming Duster, the pressure is increasing. The latest set of spy images shows the SUV wearing large 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in 235/45 section rubber. This is a notable step up from the current model, which gets 17-inch and 18-inch wheels for the N-Line models. Another spy shot shows the interior with an electrically adjustable front passenger seat with controls that can be operated from the rear, confirming the inclusion of Boss Mode.
The seats seen in the test vehicle are dressed in black leather upholstery, which is expected to be offered on higher variants. Overall, the cabin looks more upscale, with clean surfaces and in line with Hyundai’s latest global models. The spy shots also show rear bench seats, and all three rear passengers will get adjustable headrests. The next generation Creta will be based on a completely new platform and its design will be completely redesigned. It is likely to adopt a sleeker and more contemporary styling approach, making it look completely different from the existing model. The new platform is also expected to allow for larger overall dimensions, which should translate into a stronger road presence and better interior space.
Internally codenamed SX3, the new Creta is expected to be based on Hyundai’s new K3 platform, the same architecture that debuted on the next-generation Seltos launched a few months ago. Powertrain options are expected to remain largely unchanged and are likely to include a 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 118 hp, a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit with 113 hp and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 150 hp. Transmission options are expected to include manual and iMT gearboxes along with CVT, automatic and dual-clutch transmission options.Image Source: Seoul.__.Station
