Yamaha FZ Blue Flex vs Hero Splendor+ Flex: Price, specifications and more

India’s flex-fuel two-wheeler segment has started gaining momentum. A few months ago, there was only one motorcycle in this segment and now we have four. Hero MotoCorp introduced Splendor+ flex fuel in June, while Yamaha recently entered the segment with FZ Blue Flex. Both motorcycles are capable of running on ethanol-blended fuel ranging from E20 to E85. Here’s a look at how the two fare in terms of price, engine, features and more.

Hero Splendor+ Flex Fuel was launched on June 3, 2026 at an ex-showroom price of Rs 82,710. Yamaha launched the FZ Blue Flex on July 10, priced at Rs 1,24,240, ex-showroom. Hero also announced a limited period discount of Rs 4,000, taking the effective price of Splendor+ Flex Fuel to Rs 78,710.

Under the bodywork, both motorcycles retain their familiar engines but they have been re-engineered to support higher ethanol blends. The Splendor+ Flex Fuel uses a 97.2cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine mated to a 4-speed gearbox. Running on E85 it produces around 8.6 PS and 8.3 Nm of torque. Hero says it has modified over 36 components including the fuel pump, ECU calibration, seals and fuel lines to ensure compatibility with ethanol-rich fuel.On the other hand, the Yamaha FZ Blue Flex is powered by a 149cc air-cooled, fuel-injected engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It develops 11.7 PS of power and 12.8 Nm of torque while supporting fuel mixtures from E20 to E85.

When it comes to features, Yamaha offers more premium packages. It comes with full-LED projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, digital instrument console, single-channel ABS, silent starter and telescopic front suspension. Hero Splendor+ Flex Fuel sticks to its commuter-centric approach. It features a digi-analog instrument cluster, Hero’s i3S idle stop-start system, side-stand engine cut-off, tubeless tires and drum brakes at both ends. Cosmetic changes are limited to new graphics that differentiate it from the standard Splendor+.
