Entrepreneur Ashneer Grover has bought the new MG M9 luxury MPV. Grover’s latest vehicle symbolizes the shift from performance-focused cars to cars focused on comfort and interior space. The MG M9 is introduced as a premium MPV, designed for buyers who prioritize space, features and outright comfort. The MG M9 electric MPV has found takers among prominent personalities in India, including actors, musicians and sportsmen. Actress and politician Hema Malini is among the early owners of this model. Singer and musician Shankar Mahadevan has also bought a vehicle, while cricketer KL Rahul is reported to have a vehicle.
Their purchase underlines the model’s growing presence among public figures and business leaders, indicating growing interest in the premium electric MPV segment. The MG M9 is priced at Rs 69.90 lakh (ex-showroom) and is sold exclusively through its MG Select premium retail network in a single, fully loaded trim level. It is also the only all-electric luxury MPV available in the Indian market.
The M9 is offered in both 7- and 8-seater configurations and gets features like two sunroofs—a single-pane design for the front and a dual-pane unit for the rear—as well as powered front and rear seats offering heating, ventilation, massage function and fold-out ottoman support. Additional highlights include powered rear-sliding doors and a rear entertainment screen. In terms of safety, it gets multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, disc brakes on all four wheels and an electronic parking brake. Additionally, it will also feature a Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite, which includes features like Adaptive Cruise Control and Forward Collision Avoidance Assist.The electric M9 has a front-wheel-drive layout powered by a front-mounted motor and a 90kWh lithium battery. The motor produces 245hp and 350Nm of torque, with a claimed WLTP range of 430km. In India, the MG M9 is offered in three color options – Mystic Grey, Luminous White and Cardiff Black. Visually, the MG M9 Electric flaunts a boxy yet premium stance with an impressive length of 5,207 mm. Its front has sleek LED DRLs and muscular bumper, which gives it a bold and modern look. The side profile is further enhanced by stylish 19-inch alloy wheels, which add to its strong road presence.
