Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the all-new CLA Electric will be launched in India. The electric sedan will be launched in April 2026, with the company set to announce the exact launch date closer to the launch. Touted as one of Mercedes-Benz’s major launches for the Indian market in 2026, the CLA EV will take on rivals in the premium electric sedan segment.
Mercedes-Benz CLA EV : Main Details
The CLA Electric will be offered with two powertrain options. The entry-level CLA 250+ with EQ Technology is claimed to offer a driving range of up to 792 km on a single charge, while the more powerful CLA 350 4MATIC with EQ Technology is rated at 770 km. Both versions use a newly developed rear-mounted permanent magnet electric motor and 85 kWh battery pack. Talking about power figures, the CLA 250+ makes 272 hp, enabling the sedan to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.7 seconds. The CLA 350 4MATIC adds a second electric motor on the front axle with a combined system output of 354 hp. This improves performance significantly, with 0 to 100 kmph being completed in just 4.9 seconds.
Charging capability is another highlight of the CLA EV. Thanks to its 800-volt electrical architecture, the sedan supports DC fast charging at speeds of up to 320 kW. Mercedes-Benz claims it can add about 300 km of driving range in about 10 minutes under ideal conditions.The electric CLA is built on Mercedes-Benz’s MMA platform, which has been developed specifically for electric vehicles. Inside, the sedan will feature the new MBUX SuperScreen, featuring a digital instrument cluster, infotainment system and an additional screen for the front passenger. Connectivity features include voice commands, over-the-air software updates, and Google-based navigation and voice assistance. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will also be offered.
