India’s premium SUV market is growing at a good pace and competition is becoming intense. While buyers in this segment are looking for comfort, luxury and convenience, engine performance is one of the biggest deciding factors for making the final choice. MG has recently launched the Magister. This SUV will compete with popular nameplates like Toyota Fortuner and Skoda Kodiaq. Here, let’s see how these models stack up against each other in terms of engine specs.

MG Magister versus toyota Fortuner vs Skoda Kodiaq: Engine Specifications

The MG Magester is powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel motor. This powerplant produces 215.5 hp and 478.5 Nm of torque. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and is available in both 2WD and 4WD configurations. The best-selling Toyota Fortuner in the segment is powered by a 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine that develops around 204 hp. Torque output ranges between 450 Nm and 500 Nm, depending on whether the SUV is equipped with a manual or automatic transmission. It can be had with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes, and four-wheel drive is also available.
