Kia India has recently introduced the next generation Kia Seltos in the Indian market. And now, the company’s next big launch, the Kia Ciros Electric, is expected this year. Ahead of its launch, the upcoming EV has been spotted testing on Indian roads under full camouflage. The Kia Ciros EV is expected to share most of its styling and components with the ICE-powered Ciros. However, it is likely to get subtle design changes to differentiate it as an electric model. Let’s take a look at what can be expected from the all-electric Kia Sciros.
As can be seen in the images, the Kia Ciros EV is covered under heavy camouflage, so it is difficult to tell anything about its new design. However, visible elements confirm its identity. The boxy shape, partially open headlamps and tail-lamps, and alloy wheel design match the Sciros. The test vehicle also shows an exposed radar unit on the grille for ADAS, as well as a charging port located on the front right fender. Other exterior highlights include distinctive headlamps with LED DRLs, a slatted grille, pronounced wheel arches, dual-tone exterior rearview mirrors with integrated turn indicators, flush-fitting door handles and roof rails. At the rear, the SUV features vertically stacked tail-lamps and a sculpted bumper.
While the interior was not visible, the electric version is expected to retain the features of the ICE model, including dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and instrumentation, a panoramic sunroof, second-row sliding and reclining seats with ventilation, Level 2 ADAS, and a 360-degree camera. The cabin is also expected to get minor updates, including subtle design changes and EV-specific badging to differentiate it from the standard model.Technical details are limited, but the Ciros EV will use a front-wheel-drive setup and is expected to share its K1 platform with the Hyundai Inster EV. It is likely to offer the same 42kWh and 49kWh battery pack options as the Inster, offering a WLTP-rated range of 300 km and 355 km respectively. When launched, the Kia Ciros EV will rival the Tata Punch EV in the entry-level electric SUV segment. The higher variants may also rival the Tata Nexon EV and XUV3XO EV. The price is likely to be between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh.Image Source: RasacL/Reddit
