Hyundai Motor India today launched the new 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric SUV in the Indian market, priced at Rs 55.70 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated electric SUV has been introduced with a larger battery pack, revised styling, additional technology and advanced safety features. However, it is priced Rs 12.10 lakh higher than the outgoing model, which was listed at Rs. Rs 43.60 lakh (ex-showroom). This increase reflects external design changes as well as improvements in range and efficiency that give the model a more current appearance.Interested customers can book the new Ioniq 5 online or by visiting their nearest dealership. Deliveries are expected to begin soon. The new Hyundai IONIQ 5 is offered in Gravity Gold Matte, Midnight Black Pearl, Titan Grey, and Optic White exterior shades, all paired with an Obsidian Black interior theme. The Hyundai IONIQ 5, built on the Hyundai E-GMP platform, remains the company’s flagship electric model in India.
First of all, talking about the battery pack, it comes with a larger 84kWh battery pack instead of the earlier 72.6kWh unit. It has a claimed ARAI-certified driving range of up to 690 km on a full charge. Hyundai has not revealed power figures for the India-spec model. However, in global markets, the rear-wheel-drive version with an 84kWh battery offers 229hp and 350Nm. Exterior changes include updated front and rear bumpers, revised skid plates, a new alloy wheel design, a redesigned rear spoiler and a new V-garnish lighting element, while Hyundai’s parametric pixel design language continues.Inside, the cabin has seen usability-focused updates. It now features a three-spoke leather steering wheel with illuminated four-dot pixel design and heating function, as well as dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and instrumentation. The wireless charging pad has also been redesigned to include physical controls for the heated and ventilated seats.Technology upgrades include Hyundai’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (CCNC) and Controller Over-the-Air (C-OTA) functionality. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are added along with Active Sound Design. The model also offers remote immobilization and in-car payment system for EV charging via Hyundai BlueLink.
