    Bengaluru-based EV maker Ultraviolette Automotive is preparing to expand beyond premium motorcycles with the introduction of its first electric scooter, the Ultraviolette Tesseract. First unveiled in 2025, Tesseract is now getting closer to its market debut, with the production version expected to hit the market in Q2 2026. With deliveries expected to begin soon, here’s a quick look at what the e-scooter has to offer.

    Tesseract was introduced at a starting price of Rs 1.45 lakh, ex-showroom. It can be pre-booked on the company’s official website for a token amount of Rs 5,000.Built on a new platform, the Tesseract is powered by an electric motor generating 20.1 bhp. Depending on the battery pack selected, the Ultraviolette claims a maximum range of up to 261 km on a single charge. Buyers will have three battery options to choose from: 3.5 kWh, 5 kWh and 6 kWh. Performance is expected to be one of its key attractions, with the scooter capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 kmph in just 2.9 seconds and reaching a top speed of 125 kmph. The battery can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in less than an hour.

    In terms of features, Tesseract is packed with technology. It has a 7-inch touchscreen TFT display with built-in navigation, as well as dual dashcams front and rear. Other notable features include wireless charging, haptic feedback on the handlebar, dual-channel ABS, traction control and hill hold assist. The scooter also has the facility of Dynamic Stability Control.One of the standout elements of the Tesseract is its radar-based advanced rider assistance system, which is a first for an electric scooter in India. The system enables features like blind spot detection, overtake alert, lane change assist and collision warning, bringing a new level of safety technology to the segment.The scooter gets 34 liters of under-seat storage, which is enough to fit a full-face helmet. It runs on 14-inch wheels and will be available in four color options: Sonic Pink, Desert Sand, Solar White and Stealth Black. Ultraviolette is also offering a standard warranty of three years or 75,000 km, which can be extended up to eight years or 2,00,000 km.Once launched, the Tesseract will compete with established electric scooters like the TVS iQube, Simple One, Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450, Vida V2 Pro and River Indi.
