Honda Cars India has recently revealed the new Honda ZR-V SUV as its flagship SUV in the Indian market. Pre-booking of Honda ZR-V is going on. Interested customers can book the SUV online or by visiting their nearest dealership. Pricing is expected to be announced sometime in June, and deliveries will begin in July 2026. The SUV will be purchased in India through the CBU route. This will push its price into a higher range due to import duties and related costs. The price of this SUV is likely to be around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, it competes with the Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq, Nissan X-Trail and others. The SUV is based on Honda’s global compact platform, which is a monocoque construction. The architecture supports front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive and hybrid powertrains across global markets. In terms of size, the Honda ZR-V measures approximately 4,568 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width and 1,620 mm in height, with a wheelbase of approximately 2,655-2,657 mm.Talking about powertrain, the ZR-V will be offered with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with dual electric motors. The strong hybrid engine produces 184hp of power and 315Nm of combined torque. It is paired with an e-CVT automatic gearbox, which sends power to the front wheels. Honda says that the ZR-V can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 8 seconds. It has an electronically limited top speed of 172kph and a claimed fuel efficiency of 22.79kpl. In global markets, the ZR-V gets an all-wheel-drive (AWD) and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine.Design-wise, the ZR-V has a crossover-like design with clean surfaces. At the front, it features a large grille and wide LED headlamps, which are neatly integrated into the fascia to provide a restrained yet noticeable appearance. In profile, the SUV appears lower than the regular models, with a sloping roofline and long wheelbase, making it closer to a raised hatchback than a traditional long SUV.At the rear, it has wraparound LED tail lamps, slightly raked rear glass and a simple tailgate layout. The roof-mounted spoiler adds a mild sporty element while maintaining the overall clean design. The exterior is more urban-centric than rugged. Moving inside, the Honda ZR-V adopts a straightforward cabin design. Controls are logically arranged with an emphasis on accessibility from the driver’s seat. The infotainment screen is located as a standalone unit at the top of the dashboard, clearly separated from the physical switchgear below. Honda continues to use traditional button and rotary controls for functions such as climate control. The ZR-V hybrid comes with a dual-screen layout, featuring a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as a 10.25-inch digital instrument display. The SUV also gets dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, ambient lighting and a powered tailgate. Honda has equipped the cabin with leatherette seat upholstery, center armrest for both rows, 8-way powered driver seat and 4-way powered front passenger seat. On the safety front, the ZR-V Hybrid includes eight airbags, level-2 ADAS, a tire pressure monitoring system and a 360-degree camera.
