Nissan India is getting ready to showcase the new Nissan Tecton SUV globally on July 9, 2026. And now, the rear of the SUV has been spied anonymously, revealing the rear profile of the Tecton. Despite sharing its underpinnings with the Renault Duster, the Nissan Tecton adopts several design changes at the rear. It gets a different tail lamp design, a rear bumper with silver inserts and uniquely styled roof rails. However, the roof-mounted spoiler, rear windscreen and rear wiper are carried over from the Duster. The ‘Tecton’ lettering on the tailgate has also been arranged like the Duster. At the front, the new Nissan Tecton SUV features a wide front grille with a red horizontal stripe around it and an illuminated Nissan logo in the centre. The SUV also features a full-width LED DRL signature attached to the headlamp units, which consist of L-shaped lighting elements. Other exterior highlights include a sculpted bonnet with prominent character lines, a central hood scoop and Tecton badging.

At the rear, the SUV will feature a roof-mounted spoiler, raked windscreen, C-shaped connected tail lamps and a large bumper. Dimensionally, the size of the SUV is expected to be similar to the new Renault Duster, measuring 4,345 mm in length, 1,815 mm in width, 1,703 mm in height and 2,657 mm in wheelbase. The Tecton is expected to share its engine options with the new Duster. The 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine produces 100 PS of power and 160 Nm of torque paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The second engine is a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine with 163 PS and 280 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed DCT or a 6-speed manual. It also has a larger 1.8-litre strong hybrid petrol engine with 109 hp, a 49 hp electric motor and a 20 hp hybrid starter generator (HSG), paired with a 1.4 kWh (280 V) battery. Together, this configuration delivers a combined system output of 160hp and 172Nm.Expected features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, a powered tailgate, 6-way powered and ventilated front seats, 48-color ambient lighting, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, multi-drive Mods and more.Image Source: Bhaiyajigaadi/Instagram
