Ather Energy has launched the new 450X Overtone series in India, bringing cosmetic updates and faster charging solutions to its popular electric scooter. The base variant is priced at Rs 1.57 lakh, ex-showroom, the updated model gets three new color options, a more powerful charger and features the latest EtherStack software, while the mechanical package remains unchanged.The biggest visual update comes in the form of the new Overtones series, which introduces three new paint schemes: Still White, Space Grey, and Lunar Grey. Buyers opting for these new color schemes will have to pay an additional Rs 1,000.Apart from the new colors, Ather has also upgraded the standard charger. The scooter now comes with a 900W charger instead of the earlier 700W unit. The company claims that the new charger can reduce the charging time by about 30 percent.The 450X Overtones Series is also equipped with the latest EtherStack 7 software platform. It features Voice on Ether, which allows riders to use voice commands for tasks like navigation, locating charging stations, and adjusting display brightness. The software also introduces several new safety features, including CrashAlert, which detects a crash and automatically sends a text message to emergency contacts, ParkSafe, which warns users when parking in theft-prone or towing zones, and LockSafe, which lets owners remotely immobilize the scooter’s motor through the Ather app.Ather has also highlighted its Halo smart helmet ecosystem, which integrates the rider’s phone, scooter dashboard and helmet to enable hands-free communication and audio functions.Mechanically, the scooter remains unchanged. The update is limited to cosmetic enhancements, software improvements and faster charging, with no changes to the powertrain or performance specifications.
