India Yamaha Motor has entered the flex-fuel motorcycle segment with the launch of the FZ Blue Flex at a starting price of Rs 1,24,240, ex-showroom. The new motorcycle is designed to run on ethanol-blended fuel ranging from E20 to E85.The FZ Blue Flex is based on Yamaha’s popular FZ platform and uses a 149cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected single-cylinder engine that has been updated to support higher ethanol blends. The engine produces 11.3 bhp power and 12.8 Nm peak torque and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Yamaha says the motorcycle has been engineered to operate on various ethanol blends without affecting everyday usability.In terms of design, the FZ Blue Flex retains the familiar styling of the FZ range. It features a full-LED projector headlamp with integrated position lamp, a sculpted fuel tank with aerodynamic bodywork, a compact exhaust, a sharp LED tail lamp and a single-piece seat. The motorcycle is available in Metallic Black paint scheme.The hardware package remains largely unchanged. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and rear monoshock, while braking is assisted by single-channel ABS. The bike also comes with an LCD instrument cluster, although it does not offer features like Bluetooth connectivity, navigation or traction control.Yamaha FZ Blue Flex will be sold through select Blue Square dealerships in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
