Nissan has announced the fuel-efficiency figures of the newly launched Tecton SUV ahead of customer deliveries starting from July 20. The midsize SUV, which is priced between Rs 10.49 lakh and Rs 18.59 lakh ex-showroom, is available with two turbo-petrol engine options and three powertrain combinations.The most fuel-efficient version of the Tecton is a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, giving a claimed mileage of 19.41 kmpl. Buyers opting for the more powerful 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission will get a claimed fuel efficiency of 18.5 kmpl, while the same engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox returns 17.8 kmpl.Under the hood, the Tecton shares its engine options with the Renault Duster. The entry-level 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine produces 100 hp and 166 Nm of torque and is currently offered only with a 6-speed manual transmission. For those looking for higher performance, Nissan also offers a 1.3-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that develops 163 hp and 280 Nm of torque. This motor can be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.Tecton was recently launched in India with a starting price of Rs 10.49 lakh, ex-showroom. In the Indian market, the Nissan Tecton enters one of the most competitive SUV segments in the country.
