Ahead of its official launch in India, Nissan’s all-new Tecton has already achieved the highest five-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP). The certification appeared on the BNCAP portal ahead of the SUV’s launch, putting its crash safety credentials in the spotlight even before Nissan revealed the model. The same listing also offered the first clear glimpse of the Tecton’s exterior design, effectively unveiling the SUV ahead of schedule.
The Nissan Tecton scored 30.49 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP). It scored 14.49 out of 16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and a full 16 out of 16 in the side movable deformable barrier test. The SUV scored 45 out of 49 points in Child Occupant Protection (COP). It scored a maximum of 24 out of 24 in the dynamic test and 12 out of 12 for child restraint system (CRS) installation, while it scored 9 out of 13 in the vehicle evaluation category. The BNCAP listing also revealed the exterior design of the Tecton ahead of its official unveiling.
