Royal Enfield’s Bullet 650 made its India debut at Motoverse 2025 as the brand’s newest addition to the 650cc segment. Although the price has not been announced yet, the motorcycle will not only go up against its own siblings but will also take on the BSA Gold Star 650. Here’s how the two large capacity retros compare on paper.

The Bullet 650 is powered by a 647.95 cc parallel-twin, air and oil-cooled engine that produces 47 hp at 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm of peak torque at 5,650 rpm. The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.On the other hand, the BSA Gold Star 650 is based on a conventional single-cylinder layout. It is powered by a 652 cc liquid-cooled engine that produces 45 hp at 6,500 rpm and 55 Nm at 4,000 rpm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox and slipper clutch.

The Bullet 650 is built on a steel tubular frame, supported by 43 mm telescopic forks at the front and Showa twin shock absorbers at the rear. For braking, it uses 320 mm and 300 mm discs with dual-channel ABS. Royal Enfield has also equipped the Bullet 650 with adjustable brakes and clutch levers.In terms of features, the Bullet 650 combines classic analog dials with modern functionality. It gets an updated instrument cluster with both analog and digital readouts, as well as Royal Enfield’s Tripper navigation pod offering Google Maps-based turn-by-turn directions. The BSA Goldstar is equipped with a telescopic front fork and twin preload-adjustable rear shocks for suspension duties. Braking is managed by a 320 mm front disc and 255 mm rear disc, both supported by standard dual-channel ABS. It also has a twin-pod semi-digital instrument cluster. Additional features include a USB charging port.
