    Mahindra & Mahindra has recently launched the new Mahindra XUV 3XO electric SUV in the Indian market. Bookings are expected to begin soon, and deliveries are scheduled to begin on February 23, 2026. The 3XO Electric is based on the ICE-powered 3XO and carries over the battery pack and electric motor from the XUV400. In doing so, it replaces the Mahindra XUV400 and now competes with the Tata Nexon EV and MG Windsor. In this article, let’s compare the Mahindra XUV 3XO with its direct rival – the Tata Nexon EV.

    Mahindra XUV 3XO Electric vs Tata Nexon EV: Price, variantsMahindra XUV 3XO EV is offered in two variants, AX5 and AX7 L, priced at Rs 13.89 lakh and Rs 14.96 lakh respectively (both prices ex-showroom). A 7.2kW charger is optionally available for an additional Rs 50,000.Tata Nexon EV is offered with two battery pack options – 30 kWh and 45 kWh. It is offered in Creative, Creative Plus, Fearless, Fearless Plus, Fearless Plus (S), Empowered, Empowered Plus, Empowered Plus A and Empowered Plus A Red Dark editions. Prices range from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom). A 7.2kW charger is optionally available for an additional Rs 25,000. Compared to the base Nexon EV (Rs 12.49 lakh), the XUV 3XO EV is priced Rs 1.40 lakh more at Rs 13.89 lakh. Compared to the top-spec Nexon EV (Rs 17.49 lakh), the top XUV 3XO EV is cheaper by Rs 2.53 lakh at Rs 14.96 lakh.

    Mahindra XUV 3XO Electric vs Tata Nexon EV: DimensionsIn terms of dimensions, the XUV 3XO measures 3900 mm in length, 1821 mm in width, 1617 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2600 mm. It has 16-inch wheels and has a ground clearance of 190 mm. The Nexon EV has a length of 3995 mm, width of 1802 mm, height of 1625 mm and a wheelbase of 2498 mm. It has 16-inch wheels and a ground clearance of 190 mm for the 45kWh and 205 mm for the 30 kWh. The Nexon EV is 95 mm longer and 8 mm taller than the XUV 3XO, while the XUV 3XO is 19 mm wider and offers a significantly longer wheelbase by 102 mm. Mahindra XUV 3XO Electric vs Tata Nexon EV: Battery, rangeThe new XUV 3XO has a 39.4kWh battery pack with a single electric motor, which sends power to the front wheels. The motor outputs 147 bhp and 310 Nm, and Mahindra says its real-world range is 285 km, with ARAI figures not revealed yet. It can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 8.3 seconds and comes with three drive modes – fun, fast and fearless. Mahindra says the battery can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 50 minutes using a 50kW DC charger.As mentioned earlier, the Nexon EV gets two battery pack options – 30kWh and 45kWh. Powering both variants is a front-mounted electric motor that produces 145 hp and 215 Nm. The 38kWh version offers an ARAI-certified range of 325 km, while the 45kWh version offers a range of 489 km on a full charge.

    In terms of features, the Nexom EV comes with connected car tech, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, auto climate control, 360-degree camera, a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, air purifier, fast charging Type-C port, single-pane sunroof, JBL-branded sound system, voice commands, OTA updates, 12.3-inch HD+ with Arcade.EV app suite, Level 2 ADAS and more. Touchscreen infotainment system is available.
