Skoda is preparing to give the Kushaq its first mid-cycle refresh. The company has now given a glimpse of what’s to come through an official teaser. As part of this facelift, the model is expected to get some cosmetic changes, new features, and more. Here’s what we know so far and what to expect.
Skoda Kushaq Facelift Launch soon: what to expect
As seen in the teaser, the facelifted Kushaq is wrapped under a green cover and the caption reads, “The wait is almost over”, hinting that the launch could be happening soon. This model has been set against the backdrop of a mustard field. This scene clearly takes inspiration from the iconic Bollywood film Dilwale Dulhania Le JayengeComplete with music from the film. Even with the cover on, some design details are visible. The facelifted Kushaq appears to get a refreshed front end with a full-width LED daytime running light setup consisting of multiple light sections instead of one continuous strip. The grille design looks sharper and could be similar to what we have already seen on the Kylaq. At the rear, the SUV is expected to feature redesigned tail-lamps connected to an LED light bar as well as an illuminated Skoda logo.
The overall silhouette is likely to remain familiar with the split headlamp layout. However, revised bumpers and thinner elements at the front will help differentiate the facelift from the existing model. Once launched, the updated Kushaq will continue to compete in the crowded mid-size SUV segment against rivals like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victorias and Tata Sierra.
More major changes are expected inside the cabin. The Kushaq facelift is likely to get a larger touchscreen infotainment screen and many new comfort and technology features. These may include panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS. Mechanically, the Kushaq facelift is expected to remain unchanged. It will continue with the same turbo-petrol engine options: a 1.0-litre unit that produces 116 hp and 178 Nm, and a 1.5-litre unit that produces 150 hp and 250 Nm. Transmission options will also remain the same, which include 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed DSG depending on the engine variant.
