    Electric scooters have become a preferred choice for daily commute and sales are gradually increasing, with several popular models currently available in the market that offer a good mix of range and affordability. Now, if you are looking to buy an electric scooter, here are some popular models that you can consider for your daily commute.

    Popular family electric scooter for daily needs

    One of the best options in the segment is the Ather Rizta, with ex-showroom prices starting at around Rs 1.15 lakh. It is available with two battery sizes: 2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh, offering a claimed IDC range of 123 km and 159 km respectively. It takes about 5 hours 45 minutes to charge the 2.9 kWh version to 80% and about 4 hours 18 minutes for the 3.7 kWh version.Another popular option is the TVS iQube, which is priced around Rs 95,000 ex-showroom. The scooter offers multiple battery options ranging from 2.2 kWh to 5.3 kWh, giving its claimed IDC range of between 94 km and 212 km, depending on the variant. Charging time for these variants usually falls between about 2 hours 45 minutes and 4 hours 18 minutes to reach 80% charge.

    Moving up the range, the River Indi is priced at around Rs 1.46 lakh, ex-showroom. Its 4 kWh battery offers an estimated IDC range of around 163 km. A standard charging setup can take about 5 hours to reach 80% capacity. Apart from this, it also offers good practicality with a storage space of 55 litres. Then you also have the option of the Hero Vida series which is offered with different battery capacities of 2.2 kWh and 3.4 kWh with a claimed range capacity between 143 km to 165 km. The prices of these models range from Rs 73,850, ex-showroom, to Rs 1.40 lakh, ex-showroom, for the top-end V2 Pro variant.Next, we have the Honda Activa E: which offers a claimed range of 102 km and runs on a 3 kWh swappable battery setup made up of two 1.5 kWh units. Prices start around Rs 1.18 lakh and go up to Rs 1.53 lakh, ex-showroom, with the top-spec RoadSync Duo variant offering a host of connected features, making it a convenient and sophisticated option for city commuting.
