MG Motor India has once again released the teaser of its upcoming flagship SUV Magister. The model will be officially unveiled on February 12, 2026. First showcased at the 2025 India Mobility Expo, the Majester is expected to sit at the top of MG’s India line-up and take on rivals like the Toyota Fortuner Legender.
MG Magister : first look
While the earlier teaser only gave us a glimpse of the front and side design of the Magister, the new video also shows the rear of the SUV. MG claims the Magister will be its longest, widest and tallest SUV ever, effectively placing it in the new D+ segment. As seen in the teasers so far, the model gets a bold front fascia with a large matrix-style grille, Falcon-inspired LED DRLs and split headlamps. On the sides, it gets 19-inch alloy wheels and flared wheel arches, while at the rear there is a full-width LED light bar that runs across the tailgate. Pixel-style detailing is found inside the tail lamp cluster. Other details include bold ‘Majestor’ badging on the tailgate and a thicker lower bumper with a silver skid plate.
MG Magister: Features and Cabin
Although MG has not yet shared official pictures of the cabin, the Magister is expected to be feature-packed. Based on expectations, it is likely to get dual-tone upholstery, a fully digital instrument cluster and a large, free-standing infotainment touchscreen. Other possible additions could include a wireless charging pad, panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, three-zone automatic climate control, and powered front seats with ventilation and heating. Full LED lighting is also expected to be standard.
MG Magister: Powertrain
Under the hood, the MG Magster is likely to use a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. This motor is expected to generate outputs of up to 218 hp and 480 Nm. MG is also expected to equip the Magister with differential lock and multiple drive modes, allowing drivers to switch between 2WD, 4WD and low-range 4WD using dedicated controls.In terms of pricing, the ex-showroom price of the MG Magister is expected to start around Rs 40 lakh, placing it firmly in the premium SUV segment.
