Nissan India has officially confirmed that it will launch its upcoming budget MPV Gravitas in the country on February 17. The name Gravitas was revealed with the first teaser images in December 2025. Ahead of the launch, Nissan has now released a new teaser showing the Gravitas in more detail, although the vehicle remains largely under wraps. Here’s everything you need to know about this model.
Nissan Gravit: Everything you need to know
The new teaser reveals the full exterior and also gives a glimpse inside the cabin. Visible interior highlights include a two-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls and a foldable third row layout. The cabin layout appears practical and familiar.
The Gravitas is expected to be based on the same platform as the Renault Triber, but Nissan has worked to give the MPV its own identity. At the front, it has a redesigned grille featuring the Nissan badge, along with generous chrome accents. The headlamps appear to have been reshaped, and the bonnet features more pronounced sculpting. The side profile is likely to feature newly designed alloy wheels and roof rails. At the rear, the MPV will have revised tail-lamps and a new bumper. The chrome detailing continues here too, while the Gravit name will be prominently displayed on the tailgate.
Nissan Gravitate: Expected Engine
Under the hood, the Nissan Gravit is expected to share its mechanical setup with the Triber. It is likely to be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder NA petrol engine that produces 72 hp and 96 Nm of torque. Transmission options should include a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT.The Gravitas is a key product for Nissan as it looks to strengthen its presence in India’s competitive and price-sensitive MPV sector. Looking ahead, the company has also confirmed another model for the Indian market, the Tecton SUV, which will take on rivals in the crowded mid-size SUV segment.
