A recall of Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 and Lexus LX has been announced in India. This voluntary recall has been announced over a possible transmission related issue. The recall covers selected units of both the luxury SUVs and is aimed at fixing a software issue associated with the automatic gearbox.
Toyota Land Cruiser LC300, Lexus LX Recall: Is Your SUV Affected?
A total of 969 units of the Land Cruiser LC300 manufactured between September 4, 2024 and September 30, 2025 are affected. Additionally, 117 units of Lexus LX produced between March 6, 2025 and September 29, 2025 are also part of the recall exercise.According to the company, the matter is related to the 10-speed automatic transmission used in these SUVs. The gearbox relies on linear solenoids to control gear shifts. If one of these components fails, the transmission may allow the engine to accelerate more than intended in certain gears. This may reduce power delivery and may also cause damage inside the transmission. In some situations, the problem can also result in a transmission fluid leak.
To fix the problem, authorized dealerships will update the electronic control modules that manage both the engine and transmission. Necessary software updates will be performed as part of the recall process.Owners of affected SUVs are expected to be contacted by dealers, but customers can also check with their nearest service center to confirm whether their vehicle is included in the recall.Stay connected to TOI Auto for latest updates on the automotive sector and follow us on our social media handles on Facebook, Instagram and Xpress.
