Kia Sonet’s new diesel AT variant revealed: Price, features and more

Kia India recently launched a more affordable diesel automatic variant of the Kia Sonet. Prices for the diesel-automatic variant of the Kia Sonet now start at Rs 9.77 lakh (ex-showroom), making its range up to Rs 2.25 lakh more affordable than before. The move comes soon after Hyundai introduced a more affordable diesel-automatic version of the Venue. Interested customers can book it online or visit their nearest dealership. Deliveries are expected to begin soon. Till now, the diesel engine paired with an automatic gearbox was available only on the HTX and GTX+ trims of the Kia Sonet. Now it has been introduced in four variants – HTE (O), HTK(O), HTK+ and HTK+(O). Kia Sonet Diesel AThte(o)Rs 9.77 lakh (ex-showroom)Talking about the features in the HTE(O) variant, it gets an electric sunroof, sun glass holder, manually adjustable ORVMs, a semi-digital instrument cluster, front power windows, manual AC with rear vents, 15-inch steel wheels, rear parking sensors, six airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, hill ascent control and more. Kia Sonet Diesel ATHTK(O)10.72 lakh (ex-showroom)The HTK(O) variant additionally comes with connected LED taillights, automatic climate control AC, rear defogger, 16-inch alloy wheels, rear power windows, Follow Me Home headlamps, rear sun blinds, keyless entry, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, six-speaker audio setup (four speakers and two tweeters), connected car technology and navigation. Kia Sonet Diesel AThtk plus11.08 lakh (ex-showroom)Next comes the HTK Plus, which offers features like LED daytime running lamps, LED fog lamps, driver window one-touch auto up/down, remote engine start, push-button start, electrically folding ORVMs and more. Kia Sonet Diesel ATHTK Plus (O)Rs 11.56 lakh (ex-showroom).The HTK Plus (O) gets all the features mentioned above, apart from this, it also gets dashcam with dual camera, crown jewel LED headlamps with DRL, ice cube fog lamps, Indigo Pets leatherette seats, 60:40 split rear seats and more. The Kia Sonet Diesel Automatic is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, CRDI turbo diesel with 115 hp power and 250 Nm torque and comes mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. There is also a 6-speed manual gearbox as an option. The other two engine options include a 1.2-litre NA Prior with 82 hp and 115 Nm, mated to a manual gearbox only. There is also a 1.0-litre turbo petrol with 118 hp and 172 Nm of torque, gearbox options include iMT or DCT.
