BMW M2 CS launched in India for Rs 1.66 crore: What’s special?

The M2 CS is a more performance-focused version of BMW’s entry-level M car, with reduced weight and higher power output, making it more suitable for track use. Its Nürburgring lap time is 7:25.5 minutes. The BMW M2 CS is powered by the same 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine from the standard M2, but with revised internal and stiffer engine mounts. Output is rated at 530hp and 650Nm, which represents an increase of 50hp and 50Nm compared to the regular model. The engine comes with an 8-speed auto gearbox, which sends power to the rear wheels only; No manual transmission is on offer. BMW claims to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 3.8 seconds, while its top speed is 302 kmph.

The BMW M2 CS features subtle design changes compared to the standard M2, including a revised grille and a new front splitter for better airflow. It rides on gold-finished 19-inch front and 20-inch rear forged alloy wheels, fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires as standard, with optional track tires available at no extra cost. At the rear, the M2 CS stands out with an integrated ducktail spoiler, a large diffuser and matte black quad exhaust tips. It is offered in four colours: Black Sapphire, Portimao Blue, Brooklyn Grey, and Velvet Blue.Moving inside, the car gets carbon-fibre bucket seats with leather upholstery in M ​​colours, along with carbon-fibre trim in the cabin. Other features include an Alcantara-finished M steering wheel, a 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system and a parking assistant. The standard interior is crafted from black Merino leather.
