    March 2026 saw several launches, facelifts and line-up revisions across various segments in the Indian automotive market. Key introductions included updated mid-size SUVs like the Skoda Kushaq and Renault Duster, while models like the Hyundai Xcent and Verna received mid-cycle updates. The manufacturers also revised the variant offerings with changes to the Kia Sonet and Tata Harrier EV line-ups. In the premium segment, Lexus entered India’s EV space with the ES 500e. Activity in the automotive market is expected to continue in April 2026, with many carmakers preparing for new launches, updates and EV introductions. Upcoming developments are likely to include product innovations and a variety of additions across all segments. in this article. Let’s take a look at the cars coming in April 2026.

    Volkswagen Taigun FaceliftThe first car on the list is the Volkswagen Taigun facelift, which will make its debut on April 9, 2026. The facelifted Taigun will get updated exterior styling with revised front and rear bumpers, fresh LED lighting graphics and new interior features. Since the Taigun and Kushaq are built on the same MQB-A0-IN platform and their underlying architecture is largely similar, the Taigun facelift is likely to include many of the updates recently introduced in the new Kushaq.According to recently surfaced images, the facelifted Volkswagen Taigun seems to be getting several design updates, especially at the front. The SUV now has a thin grille surrounded by new LED headlamps and LED DRLs connected by a thin LED strip. An illuminated Volkswagen logo has also been added to the front, while the bumper has been modified to give it a cleaner look. The side profile remains largely unchanged from the existing model. However, the facelift may introduce a new design for the alloy wheels. Elements like the conventional door handles, body-coloured ORVMs, blacked-out B-pillars, roof rails and shark-fin antenna are expected to remain unchanged.

    At the rear, the Taigun facelift gets updated taillamps, although the overall housing of the connected lighting setup looks similar to the existing model. The test vehicle seen sports camouflage between the taillamps, possibly hiding a thick full-width LED strip. There may also be an illuminated red Volkswagen badge hidden between the tail-lamps. The rear bumper has also been revised with a simpler design. The chrome detailing has been reduced, while the silver skid plate now has a smoother finish. The bumper reflectors have been repositioned vertically, replacing the horizontal layout used on the current model.Moving towards the cabin, the overall layout is expected to remain largely unchanged with some minor modifications and feature additions. These may include a panoramic sunroof, rear-seat massage function, a fully digital instrument cluster and AI-based integration for the infotainment system. Other expected features include wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a wireless charger, six-speaker sound system with subwoofer and amplifier, automatic climate control, leatherette seats, electrically adjustable front seats with ventilation and more. Expected safety features include six airbags, ABS, EBD, traction control, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, reverse camera, all-wheel disc brakes, rain sensing wipers, defogger, auto IRVM and more.As part of the update, like Skoda, Volkswagen is also expected to introduce a new 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission for the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, replacing the earlier 6-speed unit. The new gearbox is expected to improve fuel efficiency, as well as provide smoother shifts than the outgoing transmission and reduce fuel loss during acceleration and deceleration. The 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbo petrol produces 115 hp and 175 Nm of torque. The second engine is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol with 150 hp and 250 Nm. Expected gearbox options include only a 7-speed DSG for the 1.5.mercedes benz C.L.A electric The second car on the list is the new Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric which will be launched on April 24, 2026. The booking amount is set at Rs 1.5 lakh; Interested customers can book the EV online or by visiting their nearest dealership. Deliveries of the CLA 250+ Long Range will begin from late April, soon after the official launch. Deliveries of the CLA 200 standard range will begin later, with the company scheduling them from June 2026.

    The new Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric will be offered in two variants – 200 Standard Range and 250 Plus Long Range. Customers pre-booking the car will get a complimentary wall box home charger as part of the offer. Launch prices will be around Rs. Expected to happen. Rs 55 lakh for the CLA 200 standard range. Rs 59 lakh for CLA 250+ Long Range (ex-showroom). However, the final price will depend on the foreign exchange rates prevailing at the time of the official launch.The CLA 250+ supports DC fast charging of up to 320 kW, while the CLA 200 supports DC fast charging of up to 200 kW. In 20 minutes, the CLA 250+ can add up to 400 km of range, while the CLA 200 can add up to 320 km of range. For AC charging, the car supports up to 22 kW via a wallbox charger, with 11 kW being standard. Via Mercedes MB. With Charge Network, users can access up to 9,000 charging points across India.Toyota Urban Cruiser Abella EV Another EV on the list is the new Toyota Urban Cruiser Abella EV, which is expected to launch sometime in April 2026. Based on the Suzuki e-Vitara, the Abella EV shares most of its core components with its Maruti counterpart. The reveal marks a significant milestone for Toyota, marking its entry into India’s mass-market EV segment with a mid-size electric SUV that will take on rivals like the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara.

    Bookings for the EV are already underway; Interested customers can book it online or by visiting their nearest dealership. The company is offering 8 years of battery warranty, 60 percent buyback assurance and Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program.The urban cruiser Abella is available in two battery pack options – 49kWh or 61kWh battery pack. The 49kWh battery will come with a single motor mounted on the front axle, producing 144hp. The larger 61kWh battery also gets a single-motor, but here it produces 174hp. Both the motors produce the same 189Nm of torque. Talking about range, the EV has a claimed range of 440 km with the 49 kWh battery pack, while the larger 61 kWh version is rated at 543 km on a single charge. The urban cruiser Abella variants are – E1, E2 and E3.MG Magister Next is the MG Magister SUV, which is expected to launch in April 2026. Interested customers can pre-book the Magister online or by visiting their nearest MG dealership by paying Rs 41,000. The company will announce prices and begin showroom previews and test drives from April 2026, with deliveries scheduled to begin in May 2026. Once launched, the new Majester will rival the Toyota Fortuner Legender and is expected to be priced around Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV will be offered in three variants – Sharp 4×4, Savvy 4×2 and Savvy 4×4.

    First of all, talking about the engine, it has been introduced in a single 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel with 215 HP power, which comes with ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. The SUV gets a 4×4 system with all-terrain management software, which MG calls M-Hub, which offers 10 selectable terrain and drive modes. It also gets a crawl mode called M-Crawl function and three differential locks. It also has a maximum water-wading capacity of up to 810 mm for an SUV. The SUV offers 10 off-road modes with automatic on-the-fly switching between 2H and 4H drive settings.The new Magister is offered in both six- and seven-seat layout options. The six-seater has individual captain seats in the second row, while the seven-seater has a conventional bench. The dashboard gets a completely redesigned design with piano-black trim and silver accents that give a modern feel. In terms of features, it gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment, 12.3-inch digital driver display, MG’s i-Smart 2.0 connected-car technology, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 12-speaker JBL sound system, electrically adjustable front seats that offer heating, cooling and multiple massage functions, three-zone automatic climate control with rear-row vents, dual wireless charging. Pads, a panoramic sunroof, pedals. shifters, 64-color ambient lighting, a gesture-operated tailgate and more.Kia Seltos (New variants) The 2026 Kia Seltos is expected to offer two new top-spec variants. Although it has not been officially confirmed, the updated model is likely to launch in April 2026. The new variants are expected to be optional versions of the GTX and X-Line trims. Reports indicate that they may include features like a head-up display and dashboard camera linked to seat memory.The head-up display was shown at the global unveil but is not available in the current range, while the dashboard camera is likely to be offered at the dealer level. These variants are expected to be priced above the GTX and X-Line trims but below the ADAS-equipped models. There is no confirmation yet on the availability of the GTX (O) (A) and X-Line (O) (A) variants. If introduced, these would become the top trim in the lineup.
