BMW Motorrad has confirmed the India launch of its much-awaited adventure motorcycle F 450 GS. The model will finally make its much-awaited India debut on April 23, 2026. While the model was designed and developed in Germany, it will be manufactured locally at TVS Motor Company’s Hosur facility in India.With this, the new model will be BMW’s entry-level adventure entry point, effectively replacing the G 310 GS in India. Despite the premium price, it will give tough competition to the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure.
BMW F 450 GS : Engine Specifications and Hardware
Powering the F 450 GS is a new 420cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor that produces around 48 hp and 43 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and is equipped with a slipper clutch and bi-directional quickshifter. On the hardware front, the motorcycle is expected to feature 43mm USD front fork and rear monoshock. Braking duties are handled by a 310 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc. The bike rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, wrapped with dual-purpose tyres.

In terms of features, the F 450 GS packs a rich electronics suite, including a 6.5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, multiple riding modes, traction control, switchable dual-channel ABS, heated grips, ABS Pro, dynamic traction control, engine drag torque control and dynamic brake control. BMW is expected to offer this bike in four variants: Basic, Exclusive, Sport and GS Trophy.Globally, the F 450 GS offers multiple seat height options with a standard seat height of 845 mm, which can be adjusted to 835 mm or 860 mm depending on the seat configuration. Although the official price for India has not been announced yet, the ex-showroom price of the motorcycle is expected to be more than Rs 5 lakh. More details can be expected closer to launch.
