The KTM 390 Duke and KTM 390 Adventure The latest update sees prices increase by up to Rs 40,000, depending on the model. The KTM 390 Adventure It is now priced at Rs 3.43 lakh, ex-showroom, which was earlier priced at Rs 3.26 lakh, an increase of Rs 17,000. Since its launch at a starting price of Rs 2.91 lakh, the motorcycle has undergone several modifications. On the other hand, the KTM 390 Duke has seen a sharp jump in price. The ex-showroom price of the Streetfighter is now Rs 3.39 lakh, whereas its previous price was Rs 2.99 lakh. This means a huge increase of Rs 40,000 in one go.
The primary reason behind this amendment is the GST structure applicable to motorcycles with engine capacity above 350 cc. Till now, Bajaj Auto was bearing a part of the burden of this additional tax, effectively protecting customers from the sudden jump in prices. However, with the latest update, the company has passed on the full impact of the higher GST to buyers. The move also widens the gap between KTM’s 390 range and its smaller capacity offerings like the 250 Duke, where the price difference now exceeds Rs 1 lakh. Meanwhile, Triumph Motorcycles recently introduced sub-350cc versions of its mid-capacity bikes in India. By reducing the size of the engines to fall under the 350 cc limit, these models benefit from a lower GST rate of 18 per cent instead of 40 per cent. Now it remains to be seen whether KTM will also adopt a similar strategy.
