Maruti Suzuki India plans to introduce four more electric vehicles by 2031. Senior executive Partho Banerjee made the announcement at an event in Hyderabad, PTI reported. At the event, Maruti Suzuki delivered 108 units of Maruti Suzuki E Vitara to customers in a single day. The company said this reflects growing customer confidence as it increases its focus on clean mobility solutions. Banerjee said the brand’s mid-term strategy includes expanding its electric portfolio across multiple segments, indicating a broader presence in the EV sector in the coming years.

Looking to the future, the company aims to become the market leader in the battery electric vehicle (BEV) segment by 2031. Banerjee said Maruti Suzuki will shape its EV strategy based on market feedback and growing demand. On the pricing front, the company hinted at a potential increase due to rising commodity costs. Although the exact hike has not been announced yet, Banerjee clarified that global factors, including the current situation in West Asia, have not yet been fully assessed in terms of impact. The e Vitara, produced exclusively at the Hansalpur facility in Gujarat, has already crossed 25,000 units in exports, reaching 44 countries and targeting over 100 global markets. In FY26 alone, the company exported around 4.5 lakh vehicles. To support its EV expansion, Maruti Suzuki plans to install over one lakh public charging points across India by 2030. It has already installed over 2,000 dedicated charging points. Input from PTI.
