    Maruti Suzuki has recently launched Maruti Suzuki E-Vitara electric SUV in the Indian market. Interested customers can pre-book the EV online or at their nearest dealership. The booking amount has been set at Rs 21,000 and deliveries are expected to begin soon. The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara competes with the MG ZS EV, Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvvy EV, VinFast VF6 and the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser Abella.Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara and Toyota Abella are the first fully electric models developed under their global partnership. Although both are based on the same platform, there are some differences between the two. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at what sets them apart.

    Maruti e-Vitara vs Toyota Abella: Price, variants Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara will be available in three variants – Delta, Zeta and Alpha and will be offered with two battery pack options – 49 kWh and 60 kWh. The 49 kWh Delta is priced at Rs 15.99 lakh, the 60 kWh Zeta is priced at Rs 17.49 lakh and the 60 kWh Alpha is priced at Rs 19.79 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). The top-spec Alpha is offered with a dual-tone color option at an additional cost of Rs 22,000. The company is also offering a 7.4 kW AC charger with free installation. The new e-Vitara is also offered with BAS (Battery-as-a-Service option) at Rs 10.99 lakh plus battery EMI at the rate of Rs 3.99 per km. Owners will get free charging at Maruti Suzuki dealership charging points for up to 1,000 units or for a period of one year, whichever is earlier, which can be accessed through the ‘e for Me’ app. Prices for Toyota Abella have not been announced yet. However, it is expected to command a slight premium compared to the e-Vitara. Pre-booking has started, interested customers can book the car online or by visiting their nearest dealership by paying Rs 25,000. Maruti e-Vitara vs Toyota Abella: Warranty details Maruti is offering 8 years/1,60,000 km warranty on the battery pack of the e-Vitara and 3 years standard vehicle warranty. Buyers can opt for a 5-year extended warranty at additional cost. The company is also offering an assured buyback program. Under this scheme, customers are eligible for 60 percent buyback value after 3 years or 45,000 km and 50 percent buyback value after 4 years or 60,000 km. Toyota Urban Cruiser Abella also gets 8 years battery warranty, 60 percent buyback assurance.

    Maruti e-Vitara vs Toyota Abella: Color optionsMaruti Suzuki e-Vitara is offered in 10 color options – Arctic White, Bluish Black, Grandeur Grey, Land Breeze, Opulent Red and Splendid Silver. Except Nexa Blue and Bluish Black colours, all other colors can be had with the dual-tone roof. The urban cruiser Abella is offered in five monotone and four dual-tone color options. Monotone shades include Café White, Bluish Black, Gaming Grey, Sportin Red and Enticing Silver. Dual-tone options include Café White, Land Breeze Green, Sportin Red and Enticing Silver, each paired with a black roof.Maruti e-Vitara vs Toyota Abella: Design differencesThe Vitara and Abella differ mainly at the front, while the sides and rear are largely similar. The e-Vitara features Y-shaped LED DRLs, clear bumper cladding and fog lights. The Abella uses segmented DRLs and a smooth bumper finish, and does not offer fog lights. In profile, both models share the same aero-optimized wheel design, C-pillar-mounted door handles and cladding along the doors and wheel arches. The Abela gets ‘BEV’ badging to denote its electric powertrain. At the rear, changes are limited to slightly revised tail-light signature. The sloping roofline and bumper design are otherwise similar.Maruti e-Vitara vs Toyota Abella: Interior and featuresApart from their brand badges, both models share a similar cabin layout and feature set. Both feature a brown and black interior theme, a square two-spoke steering wheel, physical controls for climate and other functions, rectangular AC vents and a twin-screen arrangement.Both cars include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen supported by wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cloud-based navigation, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting with 12 color options and ventilated front seats. Apart from this, it has features like wireless charging, JBL sound system, automatic climate control, multiple USB ports and in-cabin air purifier. In terms of safety, the model gets seven airbags as standard, ABS, EBD, ESP, a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS functions like lane keep assist, blind spot monitor, adaptive cruise control, rear cross traffic alert and more.Maruti e-Vitara vs Toyota Abella: Battery and rangeBoth e-SUVs get two battery pack options – 49kWh and 61kWh. The batteries use LFP (lithium iron-phosphate) ‘blade’ cells sourced from BYD. The 49kWh battery will come with a single motor mounted on the front axle, producing 144hp. The larger 61kWh battery also gets a single-motor, but here it produces 174hp. Both the motors produce the same 189Nm of torque. Talking about range, the EV has a claimed range of 440 km with the 49 kWh battery pack, while the larger 61 kWh version is rated at 543 km on a single charge.
