There is a new entrant in India’s ride-hailing market. Green SM Limo, the all-electric cab service operated by Vietnam’s Vingroup, has officially launched operations in India from Delhi-NCR from June 5, 2026. The company plans to deploy around 10,000 electric vehicles in Delhi-NCR alone. This platform has emerged as a challenge for players like Ola and Uber. However, it has entered the market with a different business model. Unlike traditional ride-hailing aggregators, which rely on driver-owned cars from multiple manufacturers, Green SM will operate a company-controlled electric fleet. It allows the operator to manage everything from vehicle quality and maintenance to driver training, charging schedules and customer experience. The service will initially use electric vehicles from within the Vingroup ecosystem. The first model expected on Indian roads is the Limo Green MPV. Each cab will come with onboard amenities like drinking water and wet tissues for passengers. The company is offering 50 percent discount up to Rs 250 on rides booked through the app between June 5 and June 11.Green SM has officially launched its operations in India, expanding its presence beyond markets such as Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia and the Philippines. Early-stage pricing could become one of the biggest advantages of Green SM. Reportedly, Green SM will initially deploy around 1,000 electric cars in Delhi-NCR.
