    Nissan India recently launched the new Nissan Tecton SUV in the Indian market, with prices starting at Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Interested customers can book the new Tecton online or by visiting their nearest dealership by paying Rs 21,000 and the deliveries will start from July 20. This SUV will compete with Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Volkswagen Taigun and other mid-size SUVs in the Indian market. The new Tecton shares its platform with the new Renault Duster and will be manufactured at Renault’s facility in Tamil Nadu. In this article, let’s compare the new Renault Duster with the new Nissan Tecton in terms of price, specs and features.

    Nissan Tecton vs Renault Duster: price, variants The new Nissan Tecton is offered in six variants – Visia, Visia Plus, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna and Tekna Plus, with prices ranging from Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 18.59 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. Renault Duster is offered in five variants – Authentic, Evolution, Techno, Techno Plus and Iconic, with prices ranging from Rs 10.29 lakh to Rs 18.09 lakh (both prices ex-showroom). The starting price of Rs 10.29 lakh was applicable for customers who pre-booked their cars by March 2026; After that the standard price starts at Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The Nissan Tecton is available in six variants, one more than the five variants of the Renault Duster, and is priced up to Rs 50,000 more across the entire lineup.

    Nissan Tecton vs Renault Duster: DimensionsBoth the 2026 Nissan Tecton and 2026 Renault Duster are based on the Renault-Nissan CMF-B modular platform. However, they differ slightly in their overall dimensions. The Tecton measures 4,348 mm in length, 1,815 mm in width and 1,674 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,657 mm. In comparison, the Duster has the same length at 4,348 mm and shares the same 2,657 mm wheelbase, but is 2 mm narrower at 1,813 mm and 18 mm shorter in height at 1,656 mm.

    Nissan Tecton vs Renault Duster: Engine OptionsThe new Nissan Tecton and Renault Duster get the same engine options – 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol with 100hp, 166Nm of torque and paired only with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Another engine option is a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol that produces 163hp, 280Nm, and is paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT). On the other hand, the Duster will additionally be offered with a 1.8-litre strong hybrid petrol engine producing 109 hp, paired with a 49 hp electric motor and a 20 hp hybrid starter generator (HSG) coupled with a 1.4kWh (280V) battery. Together, this configuration delivers a combined system output of 160hp and 172Nm. This hybrid powertrain will be launched in this festive season.

    Nissan Tecton vs Renault Duster: FeaturesIn terms of features, the Duster gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, a powered tailgate, 6-way powered and ventilated front seats, 48-color ambient lighting, keyless with push button start/stop. Entry, multi-drive mode and more. Safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, 360-degree camera, electric parking brake, disc brakes on all four wheels and Level 2 ADAS features.The Tecton gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, a powered tailgate, 6-way adjustable and ventilated front seats and more. Safety features include six airbags, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, front and rear sensors, an electronic parking brake, and it also gets a 5-star safety rating from BNCAP.
