Nissan has taken a humorous dig at Ferrari on social media after the Italian brand revealed its first electric car, the Ferrari Luce. The luxury EV recently made its global debut. Some social media users compared its design to the new third generation Nissan Leaf electric hatchback. The comparison was mainly due to the Luce’s coupe-like shape and similar paint shade. Nissan decided to join the negotiations. Nissan Ireland shared a post on Instagram showing a Ferrari Luce parked next to the new Nissan Leaf. The brand added a cheeky caption that instantly caught attention online. The post reads, “They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so thank you Ferrari. Nissan. Always a smart choice.“The social media post quickly went viral. Many users found the joke funny, while others debated whether the two cars actually look alike. The Ferrari Luce uses a quad-motor setup with one motor powering each wheel independently. Developed in-house using Ferrari’s Formula 1 and endurance racing expertise, the rear motors produce 355 kW each, while the front motors produce 105 kW each, providing a combined output of up to 1,035 hp. The Ferrari Luce has been in the news ever since its unveiling. It marks Ferrari’s entry into the fully electric vehicle segment and has a futuristic design which has received mixed reactions from fans.
