India’s electric motorcycle sector is finally growing and the options are increasing day by day. Bengaluru-based EV startup Oben Electric has today launched a new product: the Roarer Evo. This new electric motorcycle goes against the Mater Era 5000. Here’s how these models stack up against each other.
Over Roarer EVO versus Case AERA 5000: performance and range
Starting with the performance, the Oberon Roar Evo uses a 9kW motor with a 3.4kWh battery and offers a claimed top speed of 110kmph. It can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in about 3 seconds. On the other hand, the Miter Era 5000 has a maximum power of 11.5 kW and a 0-40 kmph acceleration of 2.8 seconds. Its top speed is 105 km per hour. The biggest difference here is in the riding experience: the Aira gets a 4-speed manual gearbox.When it comes to range and battery, the Roar Evo claims a range of 180 km IDC. It has a 3.4 kWh LFP battery pack. The Matter Era 5000 comes with a larger 5 kWh battery, but offers a slightly lower claimed range of 172 km.

Charging is another important factor, and here both the motorcycles offer fast-charging capabilities. Rorr Evo can charge from 0 to 80 percent in just 90 minutes. The Aira 5000 takes about 5 hours for a standard charge but a 0-80 percent charge can be achieved in the same time using the faster charger.
Top Roar EVO vs Matter Era 5000: Hardware
In terms of hardware, the Miter Era 5000 uses telescopic front forks, dual rear shocks and gets liquid cooling for both the motor and battery. Braking duties are handled by a 270 mm front disc and 220 mm rear disc with ABS. Meanwhile, the Roarer Evo uses telescopic front suspension and rear monoshock with disc brakes at both ends. It also has an aluminum battery casing and a chain drive setup.

The features and technology in both the motorcycles are strong. Roar Evo comes with a 5-inch TFT display, navigation, geo-fencing, theft protection and a unique SmartIQ AI ride mode that optimizes power delivery based on riding style. It also offers features like fall detection with emergency alerts and 10 liters of storage for the first time in the segment. The Matera Era 5000, on the other hand, gets a larger 7-inch touchscreen display with 4G connectivity, navigation, OTA updates, and a host of connected features through its apps. It also includes keyless operation, gear position indicator and shift assist.
Oberon Rohr EVO vs Mater Aera 5000: Pricing
The Oben Roar Evo has been launched at a starting price of Rs 99,999, ex-showroom, which will later increase to Rs 1.25 lakh. In comparison, the Miter Era 5000 is priced at Rs 1.81 lakh, ex-showroom.
