The electric motorcycle sector is continuously growing in India and Royal Enfield has now stepped in with the Flying Flea C6. Although competition is still limited in this segment, it is ahead of rivals like Miter Era 5000+. Here’s a quick look at how the two compare on paper.
RE Flying Flea C6 vs Mater Era 5000+: Battery and range
The Miter Era 5000+ is powered by an 11.5 kW motor, which is approximately 15.4 hp. It also gets a 4-speed gearbox, which is unique in the EV space. In comparison, the Flying Flea C6 makes around 20.6 hp and 60 Nm of peak torque. Battery and range is another important difference. The Aera 5000+ has a 5 kWh battery and claims an IDC range of 172 km. Normal charging takes about 5 hours while fast charging takes about 1.5 hours for a 0-80 percent top up. On the other hand, the Flying Flea C6 gets a 3.91 kWh battery pack that offers an IDC range of 154 km. It also supports relatively quick charging, taking about 65 minutes from 20-80 percent.
RE Flying Flea C6 vs Mater Era 5000+: Hardware and Features
On the hardware front, the Flying Flea C6 appears to be quite serious. It features girder-type front suspension, monoshock at the rear, 19-inch wheels at both ends and dual-channel ABS with lean-sensitive traction control. Its weight is only 124 kg, which makes it quite light. On the other hand, the Miter Era 5000+ gets telescopic front forks and adjustable twin rear shocks, while the braking duties are handled by a 270 mm front disc and 220 mm rear disc with single-channel ABS and regenerative braking.Features are where things get interesting. The Flying Flea C6 arguably takes the lead with a more advanced electronics package, including a circular TFT console with smartphone connectivity, multiple ride modes, traction control, cornering ABS and even cruise control.
The Matera Era 5000+ comes with a 7-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen with 4G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity, which offers navigation, music, and call alerts. The system is supported by a 9-axis IMU, OTA updates and a dedicated smartphone app for ride statistics, geo-fencing and vehicle health monitoring. What really sets it apart is the 4-speed manual gearbox paired with a clutch.
