Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles today announced the launch of the new Intra V40 pickup truck. The latest addition to the company’s small commercial vehicle range comes with a CNG-petrol bi-fuel powertrain. It is aimed at customers seeking higher payload capacity, better operating efficiency and lower operating costs. The Integra V40 offers a payload capacity of 1,525 kg and a 2,960 mm (9.7 ft) load body, making it suitable for a wide range of cargo transportation applications. The new Intra V40 is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine that produces 58bhp and 106Nm of torque. The pickup is equipped with a 110-litre CNG tank, which is intended to support a long operating range. Its range on bi-fuel (CNG+petrol) is 800 km. The bi-fuel setup allows users to switch between CNG and petrol. Tata Motors says the vehicle has been designed to help operators maximize earnings while ensuring seamless operations on various routes and business requirements. In terms of features, it also gets features like electric power steering, front disc brake, air conditioning (VX trim), music system (VX trim), halogen headlamps and Fleet Edge telematics with vehicle monitoring, predictive maintenance alerts and operational insights aimed at improving uptime and fleet productivity. The Intra V40 is backed by Tata Motors’ End to End Service 2.0 Support Programme, which provides lifecycle support to customers. The Intra V40 is built on Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle platform and features a walk-through cabin designed to improve driver comfort. The company has also equipped the pickup with a front disc brake, while the hydroformed chassis claims to enhance structural strength, stability and overall durability. With the launch of Intra V40, Tata Motors now offers one of the widest bi-fuel commercial vehicle line-ups in the country. The range includes Ace Pro Bi-Fuel, Ace CNG 2.0, Intra V20 Gold and the newly introduced Intra V40, covering multiple payload ranges.Commenting on the launch, Mr. Pinaki Halder, Vice President and Business Head, SCVPU, Tata Motors Limited, said, “The shift towards alternative fuels in last-mile cargo transportation is accelerating due to the need for lower operating costs and greater flexibility. With a clear focus on building the strongest and most comprehensive alternative fuel portfolio in the small CV and pickup segments, Tata Motors is at the forefront of this change. With the all-new Intra V40, we further strengthen our bi-fuel range and consolidate our leadership in alternative fuel mobility, while our expanded electric portfolio supports a calibrated transition towards green last-mile transportation.
