Tata Motors has once again teased the Punch HBX, hinting that a rugged version of its popular micro SUV may be launched soon. However, the brand has not yet announced the launch date or opening of bookings.
Tata Punch HBX : All you need to know
The Punch HBX was first showcased in early 2026 as a more robust version of the facelifted Punch. This version focuses on visual enhancements rather than mechanical upgrades. Many changes have been made in the exterior to give it a stronger look. It includes all-terrain tires wrapped around black 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, chunky front and rear bumpers with armor guard skid plates and pronounced wheel arches. Tata has also added armor guard side cladding, a blacked-out roof and ORVMs, silver inserts on the front bumper, an air-shield rear spoiler and a roof carrier. Inside, the cabin is expected to remain unchanged compared to the standard Punch. The feature list is likely to be extended without any significant additions. As far as the engine is concerned, this trim will use Tata’s 1.2-litre iTurbo petrol engine, which will produce 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque, which will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The standard Tata Punch facelift is already on sale in India at prices ranging from Rs 5.65 lakh to Rs 10.60 lakh, ex-showroom. However, the Punch HBX has only been showcased as an accessorized concept so far. More details about its production plans, pricing and launch timeline are expected to be revealed later.
